Feeding on the Word

Dear Christian, do not become discouraged and disheartened at the parts of the Bible you do not understand. Simply move on, believing that one day God will open your mind to his deeper, more puzzling truths. in the meantime, grab hold of the morsels you do comprehend and feast on the banquet set before you."

Recording in your Spiritual Journal

Before you read, begin with prayer: Simply thank God for the opportunity to read His Word, and ask Him to provide clarity of mind and insight.
Recording:
1) The date and the Name of the book you're reading.
2) The author of this book, and to whom is he writing?
Other suggested notations:
3) The Chapter and Verse and major points that caught your attention.
4) Did you find a promise that God has made?
5) What special meaning might have been intended for the people at the time it was written?
6) What central meaning has this book of the Bible for you?
7) Have you found a verse you'd like to memorize?

Getting Ready

We can anticipate our first Bible Reading/Study assignment to be posted Wednesday, December 3, 2008.

You will need to decide how you will sign your comments. Will you use your real name, your initials, a nickname, or an invented name? Just make sure that you use the same signature each time you leave a comment. We will get to "know" each other through using our names.
